Hi folks
When creating Product pages for my eStore, I routinely clear the options in WordPress for Commenting and Trackbacks. However, I’m beginning to wonder how others handle it.
Do you allow commenting? If so, what benefits do you see?
What about Trackbacks? I’m admittedly unsure about what this even does. But also wondering what (if any) effect it has on the operation of the eStore.
Cheers… Rick
In a nutshell, trackbacks are a form of “remote comments.”

By having comments “on,” you allow visitors to comment about whatever is on that particular post or page.
So, the question comes down to… how sensitive are you about people commenting in public about your products?
Hi Rick, Both comments and track backs have no affect on the eStore. This would be fully a personal choice if you want to use these options.
Comments and trackbacks are a very good way to get people to interact with your site and spread the word. These also have many other benefits such as
Comments: keep your site active and Google likes this.
Trackbacks Backs: Are also used by Google to help determine page ranking and site trust. The more sites you have linking back to you the more Google Trusts you (There are 200+ things Google looks at when figuring out Page and Search Engine Ranking).
