Hello everyone,
I’m building a site for librarians funded by the NSF. While it’s free for librarians to use the project restricts membership to approved people. I’m using WP eMember to control who gets to see what on the site, and that’s working quite nicely!
We are manually adding members thru the eMember interface. I believe WP eMember is supposed to send out an email to the user after I register them – is that true?
I just turned debug on and I don’t see any log entries that look like a sent email:
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Preserve role settings is enabled. So the corresponding WP user role will not be updated.
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Creating WP User using single site API. User ID: 37
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :===> Performing autoresponder signup if needed (member was added via admin dashboard) <===
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Performing membership level specific autoresponder signup if specified.
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :End of membership level specific autoresponder signup.
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :Performing global autoresponder signup if specified.
[07/15/2016 5:44 PM] – SUCCESS :End of global autoresponder signup.
WP eMember sends “forgot password” emails, so I know email is working.
What am I doing wrong?
Other potentially useful details – users are only added by an admin. No one can sign themselves up. As users need to post the bbPress forums, I’ve got “create wordpress users” and “log users into wordpress” on.
Thanks for your help…
Do you have the “Send Email to Member When Added via Admin Dashboard” option enabled in the email settings menu of the plugin?
If you don’t enable it then the plugin won’t send notification email when you add them via admin.
The members are suppose to register from the front-end of your site. When they do that, the notification email gets generated automatically.
