Tagged: eMember, javascript, login, login box, popup, WP eMember
My WP membership site (on a WP MS install) was running fine until after my WordPress 3.5 upgrade.
The ShortCodeMagic plugin has not received a update in recent time that I recall but suddenly is doing “something” that prevents the little javascript popup box necessary for the “Login” link in WP eMember to work correctly.
I’ve temporarily downed the ShortCode plugin on my site but this plugin is something I use avidly and one that deactivating messes up the user experience.
I requested, downloaded, installed the latest version of all TTHQ plugins I’m using with no improvement.
As long as I keep SCM deactivated, the javascript pop works, as soon as I activate SCM, the javascript pop stops working (and I get support tickets from members).
Ideas of how to go about solving this?
Hi Kim, It basically means the jquery upgrade that came in WP3.5 made that other plugin outdated. So now you have JavaScript errors on the site which is causing this. The obvious fix is to get the other developer to update that plugin. However, you can simply turn off eMember’s fancy login option and use the standard login to get around it. eMember’s standard login doesn’t use any JavaScript so even though you have errors on the site, it shouldn’t stop functioning.
Go to eMember settings and uncheck the “Enable Fancy Login Widget/Popup” option to turn off the fancy login.
Thanks, appreciate the insight. Now I know who to contact and a way around it. Appreciate you!
