wp eMember auto upgrade to free membership

Hi,

I was searching the forum and found similar topics but none that answers my question.

I would like members to pay in two instalments (2 billing cycles subscription) but then to continue having access to the website and auto upgrade through several membership levels for some more months. Finally to be auto upgraded to free membership.

Ok when final subscription payment is through in PayPal, account is marked as unsubscribed in emember. Can the account continue auto upgrading even after the main membership expires so that user ends up in a free membership that has no expiry date?

And a more simple model. Member pays one time fee for a membership level set to expire in 30 days. If the member is also auto upgraded to the free membership level while the paid one is active, does the whole account become inactive once the 30 days are over?

I am sorry is it sounds complicated.

Ok I noticed another problem. When a member is auto-upgraded they are still member of the previous level. Can this be amended to only the current level. I set expiration dates but still the previous membership levels are active-

If you want to set a premium members level to free after their subscription ends then do the following:

You can create a page and put that shortcode (see the above post). Your premium members can click it to change their level to Free.

Have you checked the “Enable Secondary Membership” field in eMember. When you enable that feature the plugin will allow you to add multiple membership levels to the same user (instead of replacing the level). Uncheck that option if you don’t want it.
