WP eMember-accounts being auto activated even with Manually Approve checked

Once a user registers, their account is being automatically activated rather than being held as pending even though we have checked the box “Manually Approve Members”.

What version of emember are you using? Do you have the debug option enabled in the plugin? If not, please enable the debug option from the settings then do a test registration. Share the URL of your registration page after that so I can inspect a few things.

I am using Version v8.9.5.

I have enabled the debug option.

Memberships are being automatically activated rather than pending.

Memberships are being listed as free rather than the one or two year subscriptions that should be the only options.

I am not seeing any transaction/payment in the emember plugin’s ipn handler script.

Where is the unique registration link that was sent after the payment? I am referring to the link specified in step 9 and 10 of the following documentation:

For paid memberships, the user has to click on that unique link (sent the by the plugin after the payment). You can’t go directly to the registration page and expect to signup to a premium level. Are you directly going to the registration page to register for a premium level?
