For example… lets assume this url was the affiliate link [www.domain.com/affiliate=cnet]

Could we create a code on checkout that user could enter ‘cnet’ so the affiliate gets credit from offline referrals shared by business card or something without a link.

You can allow your visitors to manually set the affiliate ID of an affiliate (to give credit to a particular affiliate). Check this post for details on how to use it.
