I have the affiliate plugin running at [http://affiliates.just-ask-kim.com] I have various standalone digital paypal-button products on a multisite at [http://product1.on.just-ask-kim.com] all tied to the satellite plugin. This all works nicely as all of these items are using a 50% payout.
I am currently setting up http://services.just-ask-kim.com which needs to share the affiliate platform but only utilize a 20% commission. My understanding is that, to make that happen, I need to install eStore into this combo.
Would eStore be installed on “services” or on “affiliates” and if its on “services” and there is no eStore satellite then what alterations need made for services to make “services” able to call shortcodes from eStore or visa versa? Would eStore need to run on BOTH “services” and “affiliates” and somehow crosstalk?
I’m hoping not to disrupt the sale of my existing info products and their affiliate payouts and percentages in doing this.

July 13, 2012 at 4:30 am #47305adminKeymasterUpdate: The following change is no longer necessary. The eStore plugin will detect the satellite plugin automatically and track affiliate commission accordingly.
Hi Kim, Simply add eStore to your “services” domain then apply the following tweak:
Open the “eStore_advanced_configs.php” file and look for the following line:
define('WP_ESTORE_REDIRECT_COMMISSION_USING_SATELLITE_AFFILIATE_PLUGIN', false);
Once you find it change it to the following:
define('WP_ESTORE_REDIRECT_COMMISSION_USING_SATELLITE_AFFILIATE_PLUGIN', true);
This way any sale you make via the “services” install of eStore, it will use the satellite plugin to do the same thing you are doing with the PayPal buttons on other WP installs.
Let me know if that helps.
July 13, 2012 at 4:35 am #47306kimjcastleberryMemberAnd this code change enables eStore to pass through the lower commission rate that services carry? I don’t want them to pick up the Affiliate plugin’s general 50% commission. If so, then cool
