We have been troubleshooting WP Affiliate integration with Wishlist Member using the PayPal Standard payment integration.

Initially we followed this article: https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/wishlist-members-plugin-and-wp-affiliate-plugin-integration-723 – This does not work

Then we followed https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/plain-paypal-button-and-affiliate-plugin-integration-168, enabled the 3rd party and in putted the PDT and it works.

Which one is the correct configuration?

Since you tried both of them, “…the one that works,” is the one you should use.

The first article did not involve the use of PDT, the second one did. If your configuration did not use PDT, the first article would have worked for you. In other words, there are really 4 integration options, not 2.
