WP Affiliate – Should I Configure AWeber API or the 'old school' method?

Please note that I have searched the forums but don’t seem to find a relevant or recent Q & A related to my question.

Should I ‘Configure aweber API’ in order to have people who sign up as affiliates end up on the aweber email list specific to affiliates?

Or should I fill out the section above this one in the “WP Affiliate Platform Settings v 5.9.3 > Autoresponder settings” and check this box “When checked the plugin will automatically sign up the affiliates to your AWeber List specified below.” and then paste in the name of the aweber list I created for affiliates?

Which method is preferable and why?

Also, while we are on the subject, which method is preferable (for getting folks onto the proper aweber list) for the WP eStore setting on the same site which is used to sign up members to my membership site?

There is only one way to do AWeber signup for the affiliate plugin. The following documentation explains the usage (this is the only supported way of doing AWeber integration currently):
