I’ve been reading through the forums and am still confused about when to use the satellite plugin and when to use the Pass Thru Affiliate Links

    Scenerio A

An affiliate link to be used on Facebook should be a Pass Thru Affiliate Link? Correct?

    Scenerio B

    I have a main site [www.mydomain.com]

I have a squeeze page at squeeze.com where I have some sort of free opt-in

The sales page is on [www.mydomain.com/salespage]

Affiliates will be sending people to squeeze.com. After they opt-in they will be sent to the sales page at [www.mydomain.com/salespage]

Do I need satellite plugin or Pass Thru Affiliate Links?

The ideal setup would be to have your squeeze page and your products all on the same site (ONE WordPress install).

[www.mydomain.com/my-product-page] <- you can keep it hidden or password protected

This is how most WordPress users would set it up (having too many domains or WordPress installs for the same business/product will always cause more headaches and a messy setup). More explanation on this topic here:

With that said, what eCommerce system/payment processing are you planning to use to sell the product form your product sales page? If you give me this info I will have a better idea of your full setup and give you a better answer.

Okay, Given your setup I would recommend you to use the following (it is the easiest option for you):

Create a pass thru link to your squeeze page domain (squeeze.com) via the main site where you will be selling the product (you have the eStore and the affiliate plugin installed on this main site):

The following post explains how to create a pass thru affiliate link:

Your affiliates send the visitors to your squeeze page (using the pass thru link). The visitors later come to your products page and buy the product. Affiliates will get the commission from the sale.
