What is the purpose of the “Advanced Settings” > “Record Verified Affiliate Clicks Only” setting?

It verifies the affiliate ID before recording the click.
By default it doesn’t check the affiliate ID when recording a click (this saves a query). It assumes that your affiliates have used their correct Affiliate ID to refer the user. So if an affiliate makes a mistake in their affiliate ID, it will record that mistaken ID instead of ignoring it. Recording the click when an affiliate has a made a mistake is good because the admin can see it and notify the referrer. However, some admins don’t want it so we introduced that option.
