Greetings,
I just bought and installed WP Affiliate Platform yesterday and did some testing.
I use the latest WP version, WooCommerce latest version, and multisite.
I noticed that though I created an affiliate (“test001”) and used the link-parameter the right way (“www.mysite.com/?ap_id=test001”), as soon as I follow a link within my site that links to an other page of my site, that parameter gets lost. Also If I use an affiliate Link directly into the shop, that parameter only gets passed a) if it is a simple product (variable products per default link to a product-page where you can choose your variables on that product) and b) only until I click on “my basket” or “payments”. As soon as I am there, there’s no parameter any more and therefor I get no amount of affiliate generated purchases (the clicks for those affiliate links as long as the parameter stays at the link got counted right). What can I do to solve this problem?
November 29, 2016 at 12:16 am #74692adminKeymasterThis is not a problem at all. The affiliate ID is ONLY suppose to be there for the first click. After that the user browses your site normally (like any user does) and the affiliate tracking will still work.
As long as the user clicked on an affiliate link to go to your site, the purchase will be tracked.
Did you watch all our video tutorials from the following page already?
November 29, 2016 at 8:12 pm #74693alpha-beta-designMemberSorry for the trouble – I did view the video tutorials – but reviewing indeed solved it – it wasn’t a technical failure but a logical:
my test purchases stayed at “pending” instead of “purchased and payed”. After manually marking the test orders as “processing” (-> equals *money has been received / order has been payed*) the Number of Sales and Total Sales Amount went up. Great
But what I indeed noticed is with the following setting:
1 affiliate is on a commission greater than 0 (zero). After purchasing, the number of Sales and the Total Sales Amount rises – working as intended.
1 affiliate is on a zero commission (“0”). After purchasing, his number of Sales and the Total Sales Amount do not change. I think that’s because of his zero commission.
I am pointing that out because my client wants to use this affiliate plugin rather for pure tracking reasons, not to do a real affiliate program with commissions – so the commissions won’t ever get payed, as the affiliates we add are solely used as a tracking for my clients marketing (as of now – of corse that can and probably will change in the future).
So, question is: is this working as intended with that zero commission affiliate?
Second question: is there any way to display a hint like “via affiliate X” inside the woocommerce order report?
November 29, 2016 at 11:26 pm #74694adminKeymasterBy default the plugin doesn’t log the zero(0) dollar commissions. You can enable the option to log those commissions.
Go to the following interface:
WP Affiliate Settings -> Advanced Settings
Then enable the following option
Record $0 Commission

Is there any way to display the affiliate purchases right inside the woocommerce orders / – reports?
Thanks so far for that really quick help!
November 30, 2016 at 10:59 pm #74696adminKeymasterNo, that can’t be done.
