Post any WP Affiliate Platform General Issues here
Hey admin,
Just started to figure out the affiliate module on my site. I created a mock user and then generated a banner for the mock user to use.
Then I pulled the link and put it in the browser. Two things caught my attention.
1. The click was not registered for the user.
2. The affiliate link was still present on the end of the url after I was on the site. Is there any way to strip away the affiliate link when the user arrives on the site to hide the affiliate’s id?
thanks!
Frank
@fthomas137, you need to place the affiliate banner code or the link on a webpage and follow that link. The following URL explains how you can test the plugin:
You can’t dynamically change the URL in the browser after you have landed on the page (this is against browser security). Having the affiliate ID in the URL is a common practice for any affiliate system.
Ok, done, done, done. Just not working. I know that I’m doing something foolish, but for the life of me, I cannot figure it out. I’ll send you my details.
Cheers,
Frank
Hi Frank, not sure exactly how you tested the clickthrough but I just signed up for your affiliate and took your banner code. Then I put it on one of my test site and then clicked it and the clicks were tracked fine. You can check it your admin dashboard under the “Clickthrough” menu.
