I am just setting up my affiliate program using your WP Affiliate plugin. So far it seems like it has everything I need, however I want to double check one thing.
My site uses a PayPal subscribe link for monthly recurring payments. There is no shopping cart integration, just a link to the PayPal checkout page where customers pay for the subscription.
If an affiliate sends a customer to my site who signs up for a monthly subscription, I want to pay the affiliate a percent of the sale for the first month only. I don’t want the affiliate to continue receiving a commission after the first month.
My question: Is this the default behavior of the WP Affiliate plugin? If not, is this an option that I am just not seeing in the plugin settings?
The default behavior is the following when you use integration option 2:
The commission will be given to the affiliate for each recurring payment
Use integration option 1 from the following documentation and it will behave like what you are after:
When you use option 1 integration method, it will ONLY give commission for the initial payment (there will be no commission given for recurring payments).
Perfect, thank you for the reply. I had a feeling this was how it worked, but wasn’t 100% clear that there was a difference in how commissions were paid based on the two integration options.
Thanks again.
