The backend one is in the “affiliates_menu.php” file. Look in the “edit_affiliates_menu” function.
The user stuff with WordPress is not that straight forward. the affiliate plugin has restrictions on what characters can be in the Affiliate ID field as this field goes in the URL so it can only have characters that are permitted to go in a URL without causing problems. The WordPress username is not bound by these restrictions.
