Hi,
I have 3 questions…
1. I want to use WP Affiliate with the WPMU DEV Pro Sites plugin, and I understand that all I have to do is install them both on the same WP installation. What I want to know, though, is… do I network activate WP Affiliate as well, or not?
The reason I’m asking is because by network activating it, it becomes available on all the sub sites… Hence my second question…
2. I will be selling (renting?) my sub sites to clients. Am I allowed to network activate the WP Affiliate plugin for this purpose as well? (My clients will then also be able to use it.)
3. If I am not allowed to network activate it, but only on the main site, will it still work with the Pro Sites plugin?
I have searched the forums high and low, and – understandably – there isn’t much on this topic, so I would appreciate it if you could please kindly let me know in detail what I have to do, and what I may and may not do.
Thank you for your time.
August 29, 2013 at 7:20 am #57473adminKeymasterYou don’t have to do a “Network Activate”… you can if you want to but a better setup is to allow the admin of each sub-site to be able to activate it on their install if they want it.
For each site’s you have to configure/setup a few things for the affiliate side of things to work correctly. So individual activation works better from that angle too. The admin of a sub-site can activate the plugin then create the affiliate area on their install using the following documentation:

Anyway, you are allowed to do a network activate if you want to.

I purchased this product – and some of your other ones as well – years ago and have been using them since. I love them all… Very easy to use.
I was hoping I’d be able to use it this time as well, so I am very happy to hear it’s allowed. I’ll do as you said – not network activate it. That sounds like the better option of the two.
Have a happy day…
