I am using wp-affiliate and for some reason when I create a banner or creative with a linked image I cannot transfer that image to facebook (I am using social media as my marketing platform)
How do I attach a linked image so that people who sign up can put the images onto social media?
This is the creative codes/image

Even when I put the affiliate link onto a post in FB it just shows the link and no website image etc.

Please could you tell me how to get around this as I have affiliates waiting to sign up.
Thank you

July 23, 2014 at 9:32 am #64526whaleyMemberHi.
Thanks wzp.
The problem I am having is that the affiliates cannot pick up the code for the image, wp-affiliate is only showing the html code. Please see example [http://screencast.com/t/J5ijTRWr]
Where is the image link without the html so that I can put it onto social media?
Thank you

In the screenshot you provided, the image “link” would be whatever is in the src=”……” part of the code.
July 23, 2014 at 6:58 pm #64528whaleyMemberHi WZP,
I am sorry but I don’t understand.
Please can you explain how I get an image to link to an affiliate ID and then post that link onto facebook so that the image shows up on facebook and not the link url.
Facebook does not allow the html coding.
Thank you
July 23, 2014 at 10:12 pm #64529wzpModeratorPlease see my first answer; Facebook does not permit it. What you provided in the screenshot is a perfectly valid HTML link. Unfortunately, Facebook does not permit it. You can only post the URL text link. So, using the example screenshot; you are allowed to post [https://www.chaffree.com/?ap_id=WXYZ] and it will appear as just “the URL link,” but there is no way Facebook will permit ***ANYONE*** to post a working image link.
What you can do, is seperately upload the image to your wall, and include the text caption, “click on this link for more information,” followed by the text link.

April 5, 2016 at 6:16 am #64531adminKeymasterThe following addon could be a useful for this:

July 16, 2016 at 10:55 am #64532MillionsMemberBefore I buy the ‘easy affiliate ad sharing’ addon – Can you please confirm that by using this addon, the share links will enable the banner IMAGE to appear in a facebook post. And when the image is clicked, it’s recorded as an affiliate referral.
July 17, 2016 at 3:15 am #64533adminKeymasterFacebook automatically picks an image from your landing page (the target page). So it won’t be the banner you specify. It will be one picked by Facebook from that page. Nothing we can do there unfortunately.
The affiliate referral will work fine when users click on the posted ad.
September 5, 2016 at 3:45 pm #64534MillionsMemberMessage to Admin – There is a fairly easy way of forcing Facebook to pick a banner image. Please e-mail me if you wish to discuss the solution for you to self-test.
September 5, 2016 at 11:11 pm #64535adminKeymasterI have replied to your email.
