MemberI understood that the WP affiliate plugin could be posted to social media; however, social media (specific to facebook, linkedin, and twitter) does not accept html. how does this worK? or does it? Thank you I hope I’m not violating rule #3 … not sure.

ModeratorThere are 2 known issues when posting referral links from the Affiliate Platform on social media:
- The Affiliate ID is represented in the referring URL as a URL query string. Some sites will strip out the query string, before redirection. The solution is to use either a URL shortener or domain forwarding.
- Some sites do not allow the posting of image links. The solution is to post the link separately from the image.

KeymasterYou shouldn’t try to post the full HTML code when you are posting on social media.
You take the referral URL (examle: mydomain.com/?ap_id=someid) then you post that URL on the social media. There is a link generation feature in the affiliate portal. Your affiliates can use it to create the referral URL (just the URL not HTML code).
That link generation menu in the affiliate portal is self explanatory. So your affiliates will know how to use it.
We also have the following extension for the affiliate plugin that allows you affiliates to click on a social media icon and post it directly:
