WP Affiliate emails and social media lead capture

Hi,

We recently purchased WP affiliate. We were under the impression that we could track and register our affiliates if they send a mail or Social media message using the AffiliateID.

for testing purposes we created an affilate, sent a tweet with the link (inluding the iD).

Now we find the clicks in the referral section, but a can not seem to get it to work with Mailchimp. Also I do not understand how we could track future sales based on the this workflow.

We do not have regular webshop, but we do have a landing page with sales buttons.

IS WPA designed to do this?.
