Hi, all –
I used the “Import WP Users” function to import my WP user list into affiliates. As the documentation says: the WordPress username will be the Affiliate ID. All of our WP usernames are the users’ email addresses. It imported them, despite the warning that you can only use “letters, numbers and underscore” – I would have expected it to fail some validation if @ was an illegal character for the Affiliate ID
Do you foresee any issues with the @ symbol in the Affiliate ID? (It’s a valid character for URLs – I’m just wondering if the software will try to convert it to %40 and get messed up).
The plan going forward was to use the “Automatically Create Affiliate Account” setting which I assume will have the same behavior.
We prefer to keep the affiliate ID clean. However, what you have done there will work fine too. You can do a test transaction using the affiliate ID that you are worried about just to make sure.
