Hi. I’ve seen that for a wordpress user is not possible to join a emember subscription maintaining the same account and email. I would like to mantain two separate database and allow this (without using “WordPress User Integration Settings” and “Auto Create an eMember Account When a WP User is Created by Another Plugin” function), how can i do? Is it possible? Thank you
September 28, 2014 at 12:11 am #65694adminKeymasterThe user can have more than 1 subscription. You don’t need to maintain a separate database. When you say subscription, do you mean membership level or a paypal subscription?
September 28, 2014 at 9:09 am #65695mauro7219MemberI mean membership level. I would like that a user/subscriber (previously recorded) can then record to a level of membership with same username and email. Currently the message is: username (or email) already in use. The admin can import the user data from wp to emember. Can this option also be left to the individual user who decides to import the own data to a level of membership?
Sorry for my english
September 28, 2014 at 10:47 pm #65696adminKeymasterGo to emember settings and enable the “Enable Secondary Membership” option. Your members don’t need to create a new account anymore. When they pay for a new level, that level gets applied to their existing member profile.
The following documentation has more explanation:

September 29, 2014 at 10:23 pm #65698adminKeymasterHow is the user creating that wordpress user account? You can use emember to create basic/free user accounts then later they can activate one or more paid membership levels.
Have a look at the following option:

October 8, 2014 at 6:14 pm #65700mauro7219MemberSorry, but i try to explain my case.
I would like that a user (previously recorded as “subscriber” in “wordpress” and not in “emember”) can subsequently record to a free level of emember, with same username and email.
Currently the message is: username (or email) already in use. I’m not interested in using the functions of emember named “WordPress User Integration Settings” or “Auto Create an eMember Account When a WP User is Created by Another Plugin”, because in my case the user, recorded as “subscriber” in “wordpress”, may also decide to not register in “emember”.
In practice I would like this: If a user’s username and email coincide both with credentials already in use, then the user can register in emember and should not receive the message “username (or email) already in use”.
It’s possible to cutomize this?
October 8, 2014 at 11:05 pm #65701adminKeymasterIf the email address is already taken by a WordPress user then emember can’t use that email address again because there can be ONE account in the site using ONE email address.
