WordPress reset user role after login into eMember

Hi, I set the user role to Author in the default WordPress users area. When I login with his credentials using the eMember login, his role are reset to Subscriber. The problem occurs since the last update to WordPress 3.8.

WP eMember doesn’t do anything weird with the WP User roles. In the past when I have seen a user complain about it, it always turned out that the user was using another plugin that was causing the issue. Do the following plugin test mentioned here to isolate who is doing it:

I have tested the theme and I have excluded the other plugins, but the problem remain. Anyway, the problem occurs only when the user access with eMember login module, if the user acces with normal wordpress login module, the user role not change.

Update: In your membership levels, you specified the roles to be “Subscriber” so the plugin was setting them to subscriber. The plugin has a setting for when you do not want it to modify roles according to the membership level.

Look at the “Preserve WordPress User Role” settings option in eMember settings.
