I have read through the “using WordPress Permalinks as Digital Products (APR) document and followed the steps. The digital product was created using the URL of the APR target page (http://dogtrainingvideo.biz/?page_id=93).
In step 2 it says “CHANGE the URL scheme from “http” to “aprtp”. I changed the name from http://dogtrainingvideo.biz/?page_id=93 to aprtp://dogtrainingvideo.biz/?page_id=93.
I did a test purchase and received the email sending me the incrypted link; but I receive a 404 Page Not Found Error when I click on the link.
Did I miss something? Please advise. Your help is greatly appreciated
If I copy/paste the URL to my browser it works ok.
September 28, 2011 at 1:17 am #37116wzpModeratorYour email client mangled the link up. Look at the text highlighted as a link in the email and compare it to the link that is given in the message.
September 28, 2011 at 1:52 am #37117dhachlerMemberthe hyperlink in the email was http://dogtrainingvideo.biz/wp-content/plugins/wp-cart-for-digital-products/download.php?file=2ROa%2FCsEU%2FKVga%2Fv
The link displayed in the URL after clicking on the link http://dogtrainingvideo.biz/%3Fpage_id%3D93 — 404 Page not found error.
How do I fix this?
September 28, 2011 at 2:18 am #37118wzpModeratorI see what the problem is, but I need to confirm the cause. Could you please fill out my contact form at http://TheAssurer.com/contact and I will get back to you when I wake up.
September 28, 2011 at 11:51 pm #37119wzpModeratorUpdate: When using “ugly” permalinks, the query string identifiers were being URL encoded. Code update submitted.
October 22, 2011 at 3:07 am #37120cflyrunMemberI seem to be having a similar problem. I switched to aprtp so there are some customers who previously purchased the product and need the link manually mailed to them. When I generate the link within estore and email it to them, the link produces a 404 error. I have estore version 5.9.8.

EDIT: more information
Generated link in Admin section is this:
and resolves to this:
http://www.awesomepaws.us/%3Fpage_id%3D1287
Which throws a 404 error.
October 22, 2011 at 1:41 pm #37121wzpModeratorUpdating to the latest version will fix this particular issues.
October 22, 2011 at 4:43 pm #37122cflyrunMemberAs usual, you rock. I love that the solution is 99% I don’t have the latest version. Not sure if it’s important, but I *did* check the version page before posting here, and the version number listed for estore is quite a bit older than what I’ve not got on my site (which seems stable)…
THANKS!

October 22, 2011 at 5:25 pm #37123wzpModeratorThe version page does not keep up with the latest, nightly updates. Using the automated update request link will get you the latest and greatest version of everything you purchased…

December 2, 2011 at 12:18 pm #37125PeterMemberHi,
Which version of eStore have you got?
What sort of file is the downloadable item?
Have you tested a manually generated encrypted link using the “Admin Functions” facility and if so do you still get an error?
December 2, 2011 at 12:59 pm #37126wzpModeratorAdditional, but important question, related to use of this particular feature…
When specifying the digital product URL, did you remember to use “APRTP://” instead of “http://” as the URI scheme?
