MemberHello.
I have the free shopping cart wordpress plugin installed. Inside s.cart settings is an option to enable the affiliate plugin. I just bought the affiliate plugin but before I upload it I have some questions regarding that specific s.cart option.
1. My main websites wp installation is inside a directory, but points to root via redirect. So technically my main website is domain.com/wordpress/… If I install the affiliate plugin inside my main wp installation /wordpress – is that going to throw an error somewhere along the line?
2. If my cart plugin is installed at /wordpress – and I want to install the affiliate plugin inside a fresh wp installation on /affiliates – will tracking still work if I check off the s.cart affiliate option at /wordpress if the plugin is inside /affiliates
Thank you!

Keymaster#1) That setup is fine. There won’t be any issues with it.
#2) You need to install the affiliate plugin in the same WordPress install as the simple shopping cart. WordPrss plugins can only work in the WP install they are installed in.
The following is a good read for you:

MemberHello.
Thank you. Ok both plugins are installed on the same wp account.
WP Affiliate Platform – WP Paypal Shopping Cart
I am inside Paypal shopping cart options and it says:
“Check this if using with the WP Affiliate Platform plugin. This plugin lets you run your own affiliate campaign/program and allows you to reward (pay commission) your affiliates for referred sales.”
I have placed a checkmark.
I am inside WP Affiliate Platform and it says:
“Enable 3rd Party Cart Integration:
Check this box if you want to use this plugin with a 3rd Party Shopping Cart plugin.”
Do I place a checkmark in this option?
Thanks!!

KeymasterJust checking the option in the shopping cart plugin is good enough. You don’t need to enable the 3rd party cart option in the affiliate plugin.
You should enable the debug option in the cart plugin then do an affiliate referred test transaction.

MemberHi. Thank you! Sandbox test worked with redirecting to the correct thank you page, but the affiliate url did not capture the test sale. No check-mark as instructed.

KeymasterThat means you have a payment notification issue. The cart plugin is not even receiving payment notification from PayPal.
Make sure to log into your PayPal account and enable the IPN feature. The following video will show you how to do that:
