Will PDF stamper work with PDF files stored on Dropbox?

I’ve tried to get this to work but only get an error like this:

WooCommerce and PDF Stamper integration – An error occured while trying to stamp the PDF file! Error details: There was an exception when trying to encrypt the file. Error Details: Cannot open … then file path

Is there a way to do this successfully?

The files must be hosted on the same site that you installed the PDF Stamper. That is because the plugin must be able to make random access reads & writes to both the input (source) and the output (stamped) files.
