Widget on side bar – permanent expanded?

I have the shopping cart on my sidebar widget. People are confused when they first go order because the cart is “hidden”. How can I permanently make the cart “expanded” showing the little cart icon etc – all the time with nothing in the cart?

When you add the shopping cart widget from the wordrpess widgets menu it will display the cart even if it’s empty (It will say something like “Your Cart is Empty”). Are you using the widget to display the cart on the sidebar?
