What page should be the "Default Landing Page?"

Hello, just got the Afflilate plugin installed. In your training video and doc I see that you have an older version of the plugin which does not have the setting for the default landing page. I am wondering if that should be the home page of my site or the product page? I noticed if you leave it blank, it defaults to the home page. This is the first time I am setting up an affliate program so I am not sure what the default link should be. I know it can be either but what page is best for the default landing page?

My second part of the question is – whatever default landing page is set up, do the cookies follow the person clicking through other pages on the site? For example, if the home page is the default landing page and from there the customer clicks on the product page, will it know the affiliate id?

Hi,

1. It’s really up to you where you want the customer to land when they come to your site. I would say the products page would be the best. Without knowing the scope of your site and the flow I can not really tell you what would work best for you.

2. The cookie follows the customer anywhere on your site, also if they leave the site and come back the cookie will remain for the lifetime of the cookie (most cookie lifetimes are 20-30 days). You can adjust the length of the cookie lifetime in the Affiliate Settings.
