Hello:
I’m using Lightbox Ultimate for a Prettyphoto video gallery on my website and I absolutely LOVE it! My videos are posted on YouTube. Is there any way I change the thumbnail image to be different from the one YouTube selects? As you know, they don’t always choose the best one! I’ve tried uploading a screen capture to my website gallery, then adding the URL to the code in question, but it doesn’t change the image.
Many thanks!
Hi, the default thumbnail can be changed from your YouTube account settings. First, login to your YouTube account and go to “Video Manager”. You should be able to see all the videos you have uploaded so far. There is an edit button for each video which you can click to customize the title, description, tags, thumbnail etc.
Thank you, but I’m wondering about how to do it outside of YouTube. They offer only three choices of thumbnails, and the resolution is quite poor. I’d like to be able to add my own high resolution image to the thumbnail. Is this possible?
Our plugin uses the HTML5 api of YouTube. Unfortunately It doesn’t have any option to customize the thumbnail of a YouTube video.
