Hi, This subject has already been discussed here :
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/after-login-member-loses-the-page
… but maybe a better solution has been found since then.
My problem is to not interrupt a navigation flow when a visitor has to log in before he accesses protected content.
For example, I send a newsletter with links towards protected content.
– If a visitor clicks on such a link, he will be asked to enter his member credentials.
– Then he will not see the page he was looking for, but the “after login page” from the WP-emember settings.
Is it possible to display the url that he has clicked on in the newsletter ?
Thanks.
October 26, 2016 at 10:43 pm #74461wzpModeratorHave you tried using the compact login?

October 27, 2016 at 12:13 am #74462adminKeymasterThe following documentation is a good starting point to get an overview of the login redirections:
You should be able to get what you are after by doing the following:
1) Go to the settings menu of the plugin.
2) Find the “Inline Login Widget Option” settings field.
3) Enable the “Prevent After Login Redirection When Logging in via Inline Login Option” checkbox.
October 31, 2016 at 10:08 am #74463olivierMemberThanks but these options do not solve my problem. I always land on the member profile page or on the after login page (if I have entered one in the settings).
Isn’t there a way to set the referrer page as the after login page in the Pages/Forms settings ?

October 31, 2016 at 11:00 pm #74464adminKeymasterPlease provide steps so I can see this issue. For example: tell me which protected post/page I should go to and then what details I should enter to log in as a test member to see the issue.
November 1, 2016 at 10:17 am #74465olivierMemberHere you are.
This is a link to a post on my site, from a newsletter :
If you copy it in your browser address bar, you will be asked for login parameters. Enter the followings :

Then the browser will display the member profile page and not the post, as I would like it to.
I have emptied the after login page field.
I have activated the “Prevent After Login Redirection When Logging in via Inline Login Option”.
If you are already logged in and use the same URL, you will correctly go to the post (which actually has a redirection and points out to another website).

November 1, 2016 at 11:58 pm #74466adminKeymasterThat URL is not controlled by eMember. What you explained is NOT happening from eMember at all. There are other plugins you have installed on this site which is messing things up.
You need to give me a DIRECT link to your protected post/page where I can go and click on the “login” link that is shown by eMember’s protection message. Then things will be controlled by eMember.
November 2, 2016 at 2:12 pm #74467olivierMemberOK, then use the following URL :
Thanks.
November 3, 2016 at 12:08 am #74468adminKeymasterWhen I first go to that URL, it just auto redirects me to the homepage. Not sure what is going on there.
After I tried it 3 times, I was able to see the page.
I can’t read the language from that page as it is not in English so I don’t really know what is says but I don’t see the standard eMember’s protection message there.
Go to the following demo protected post so you can see what I mean by the standard emember’s protection message. The one that has a login link inside the protection message.
So I am looking for a protected post/page where the following standard eMember protection message is there.
Please Login to view this content. (Not a member? Join Today!)
The following option works when the login link inside the above protection message is clicked:
Prevent After Login Redirection When Logging in via Inline Login Option
