When users first register on registration page, they input: First Name, Last Name and Email. Then the link goes to that email to verify the email address. However, the Email text field accepts anything even a random letter i.e. “H”. Please provide some direction on how to check for errors that the information typed in these text fields is valid, i.e. name @ domain.com.

That means the JavaScript validation is not working on your site. The most common cause for this is that you have Javascript errors on the page coming from your theme or another plugin. If you post a link to your registration page I will be able to view the code and verify it for you.
