I read through this forum response:

    https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/using-paypal-profile-shipping-but-it-is-charging-for-digital-items

but I cannot find a solution that will work. When I use PayPal based shipping and set the “Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator’s settings” set to Yes in PayPal and I set shipping costs per physical item in eStore and that is passed on to PayPal then they are charged multiple shipping fees if they buy more than one item (Item 1 shipping = $5, Item 2 shipping =$5 they get charged $10 instead of $5 for the entire order). And, setting the shipping cost to zero for digital items did not work, shipping is still added.

I would like to be able to use PayPal shipping so that I can charge shipping for 1-3 items = $9.95; 4-6 items = $14.95, 7+ items = $19.95 AND digital items will not have shipping charged at all.

Is there a way to do this?

When you want to use PayPal’s profile based shipping, please set the following option to “NO”

Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator's settings

Otherwise you are telling it to use whatever shipping estore sends instead of the one you configured in your PayPal profile. Setting it to “No” means, when they go to PayPap, it will take the shipping settings from your profile/calculator.

I did have it set to No before I started looking for a solution. But when I have a product set up as a digital download PayPal is still adding shipping. How do I get digital products to have zero shipping while still using PayPal shipping profile?

I just checked all of the settings in both eStore and PayPal and shipping is being added to the digital item. I also looked at the information on using your Bulk Quantity Shipping Addon. Is there a way to use the addon and have digital products with zero shipping?

I don’t see this as answered even though it is marked that way. My shipping setup still isn’t working so that physical products get charged shipping using the PayPal shipping settings and digital products have no shipping charged. Please let me know how to make this work.

    Thanks
