At the moment my page has an order button, and it is linked directly through Paypal, it is at:

I am not clear how I can use the button with WP eStore. I want to have that same page, but be able to go through WP eStore to go to checkout

I have added the button image url and created a product, but how do I then get my order button to show the way it is now, and when it is clicked it will then organise the transaction through WP eStore and Paypal?

On the Paypal settings I used my secure merchant id, do I have to have my email address in that box as well: Paypal Email Address/Secure Merchant ID or is it one of the other. Any idea where I am going wrong?

I am maybe not explaining this too good, but I hope that you understand the question?

    Warmest Regards,

    Gordon

I have tried a testpage with the code [wp_eStore_add_to_cart id=1] at:

It has put the image up using that code, but when you click the order now button, it does not go anywhere. Maybe I need to use a different short code, or maybe something else needs set in order for it to work?

You are using an “add to cart” button, meaning that when clicked eStore will add the item to a cart and not necessarily direct the user to another page.

Therefore if you want to use an add to cart button you should also include the cart shortcode somewhere on the page.

If you follow the instructions here you can’t go wrong (step 6 explains the adding of the cart shortcode):

Also, check the following two posts that have some more relevant tips and techniques for you:

Alternatively, you can use a “buy now” button which will take people to PayPal immediately:

Am I right in saying that if I use a Buy Now Button, it will not add me to the cart, but take me to a payment page? In this scenerio I cannot have the multiple shipping options which are available if I am using checkout? Is that correct?

When using a cart, and a person checks out, I presume it does not add the details of the transaction in the buy iy now button section of Paypal where one normally saves their buttons?

Yes you are right. If you want the shipping variation then use the shopping cart approach (the shipping variation for the cart is a shopping cart feature).

WP eStore won’t save any button in your PayPal account. The eStore products you create will only be in the site where you are using it.
