Perhaps I am missing something. I have set up pages a number of different ways. APR, amazon protected, ultimate light box…etc…and i love this product.

But my stumbling block…..is there anyway to make the link in the email non-accessible to anyone but the person buying….i.e. stop people from forwarding their email with the encrypted link to a friend…

I thought APR would do this but i sent to a buddy and he was able to access the page and the content inside….which was protected by APR and ultimate lightbox

thank you very much for your help

    Hi,

The eStore plugin allows you to implement a few safeguards to prevent what you describe above.

For instance in the settings page of eStore there is a section called “Digital Product Delivery Settings”. Here you can specify a limit on the number of times a download link may be used before it expires. Or alternatively you can specify the time-period that a download link will stay active before it expires.

What eStore provides are “access controls,” that limit the NUMBER OF TIMES a link can be used. What you are describing are “authentication controls,” which would limit WHO IN PARTICULAR, can use a given link.

We make an economic assumption that buyers want to use the link at least once, for themselves, before thinking “doing evil” and sharing. So, eStore limits the number of times & period in which a link can be used.

To limit who in particular can use access content, you would use a membership plugin like eMember.
