I just purchased/installed eMember v7.8.1 and am having trouble with the registration form.
My goal:
To create a simple free-membership website.
Registration form requires only username and email.
Question 1: Can I combine the Join Us and Registration pages in one?
Since I don’t need to display various membership options, I don’t need the Join Us page.
Under “Pages/Forms Settings”, if I set both “Registration Page” and “Membership Payment/Join Page” to the same url, would it cause any trouble?
Question 2: My registration form doesn’t show Username.
It shows First Name, Last Name, and Email, all of which are required.
Under “Pages/Forms Settings->Registration Form Fields”, I unselected First Name and Last Name, but these 2 fields still show up on the registration form.
Question 3: How can I do a clean re-install of eMember?
I figured I inadvertently changed some setting to cause the above situation and decided to re-install the plugin.
I deactivated+deleted in WP Plugin panel; deleted the plugin/eMember directory on the server; and deleted all database tables with prefix wp_emember.
But when I reinstall eMember, most of my previous settings (under “Pages/Forms Settings”, for example) are still there.
Thanks for your help!

By “registration form” I mean the pre-email validation form, not the full profile registration form.
Thanks.

2. I am pretty sure you are referring to the registration form with email confirmation which won’t show a “Username” field until the user confirms his email address. Make sure you read this documentation which will clear things up for you:
3. What you did to re-install the plugin should have taken care of any code modifications you made to the plugin so that’s good. Only settings options will stay there which is not a big issue since you can go to the settings and uncheck the values as necessary.
