Everything seems to work fine until i click the encrypted link:
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it could not handle.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The file (on the server) containing your download couldn’t be opened.
I’ve copied and pasted the URL from the debug into a browser and it can find the file?
Does anybody know why my link is not working. Any help would be greatly received. My site is meant to go live in two days!!!!
One thingIi should note is the website s is on a test/dev domain so it starts with the IP address: http:/78.170.44.90/websiteaddress/wp-content etc… Could this be the issue?
February 27, 2012 at 10:06 pm #42419epiloMemberUpdate: I have tried uploading my file to various locations in my file structure and its still coming back with the error above.
If i upload the file to different webspace(ie another website)www.website.co.uk/file.pdf the link works fine.
So does that mean it is because my WP site is a domain reference starting with an IP address, rather than www. The site is not live yet.

First check this checklist:
https://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forums/topic/downloaded-file-size-is-0-zero-byte
Then do what this post says and share the “download_manager_debug.log” debug file’s content here:
February 28, 2012 at 9:38 am #42421epiloMemberI’ve been through the checklist and tested it out by creating a dummy product and generating a link. Still comes back with: The file (on the server) containing your download couldn’t be opened.
However, if I put the direct path in a browser window, the file is there and downloads fine.
I haven’t change the validation script either. If I put the file on a different server to the WordPress website, then the link works fine?
I have shared the debug file as requested on the link you provided above.
Many thanks for your speedy response.

I obtain the following message:
The secure download manager ran into a problem that it couldn’t handle, and is unable to process your download request. Please contact the site administrator.
Please tell the site administrator the problem was due to the following reason:
The file (on the server) containing your download couldn’t be opened.
Yet, using the same procedure I do get to download this other encrypted link without any problem
Tried with several other audio files without success.
All file names are properly defined, and in fact they all work fine when streamed directly thru amazons3 onto the website,s audio player.
As far as I can see, the settings are identical on both products, so I cannot fathom what the problem could be.
Please help me as this is really doing my head in.
September 22, 2012 at 9:59 pm #42424wzpModeratorBoth of the encrypted links you posted redirect to Amazon S3; no errors occur.
Now, for “extra credit,” you might want to adjust the media disposition settings on your S3 console; so that the files will actually download, instead of playing.
