Hi there. I’m using estore and emember together to build membership level website. But I wanted to ask if I could off a free trial first. For Free Members then at my discretion later down the line charge then money per month? This is because right now I’m not sure how much I want to charge. I want user feedback first.
I’m not sure if the best way to accomplish this is using the option of ..
Emember->General Settings -> Allow Free Membership (if i check this how can I have them all upgrade later if their membership allows them access to all the pages created?)
Is there a way to do it without using Estore’s “7-day Trial” setup to accomplish “free membership then at any given day and time change all content immediately to “Locked content unless you upgrade today” kind of setup?
How could I accomplish this without setting a “7-Day Trial” sample under “Products” for the estore?
Thanks in advance

General Settings -> Allow Free Membership
Later, you can create payment buttons and tell them to use it to pay. Their account will be upgraded to a paid membership account when they pay.
You can also create multiple free membership access levels if you wanted to. The following post has more info on that:

I just tried this. But my problem is that I’m allowing free members to access the entire site and all it’s content. (i.e BETA Stage Membership)
After the beta testing ends.. I want to start charging. My question would.. be whats the best transition practice I should do?
Should i ….
First turn off “Allow Free Membership” and then Redirect them to a domain.com/upgrade section? Would this be the best method?
Is there a better transition idea you have?
Thanks.
August 15, 2014 at 11:48 pm #64920adminKeymasterHere is how I would do it:
1) Create two membership levels like the following:
a) Beta Stage
b) Full Access Membership
2) Apply the same content protection to all your content using these 2 membership levels. At the moment both these levels will have access to everything.
3) Later, when you want to turn off the beta stage membership, you can edit that level and turn off the access of that level. So everyone will need to pay for the “Full Access Membership” to have access to everything going forward.
Let me know if that helps.
