I have a client that uses my online services and the HR person creates the free member account for their employees.
The HR person then purchases one of the training courses with the company credit card through Paypal when they are logged into the employee’s free account. They have done this with 25 employees over the last 12 months. The problem is that eMember is not upgrading the employees membership level to that of the purchased course. It goes through the purchasing process but keeps the member level at the free account.
I am having to go into the eMember system and change it manually for each member.
Is there something I can do to eliminate this problem for the client? Appreciate your help.

Please tell me which option you are using to create the payment button and I will be able to be more specific as to where the problem lies. Check the “Membership Payment Options” section from the documentation link below and tell me which option you are using on your site:
June 26, 2012 at 7:15 pm #46443Artos90MemberHi,
I am using the eMember and eStore integration method. I originality followed the tutorial video to set up the products for purchase in eStore and connected them to the membership levels in eMember using the reference text (number), etc.
I am only using a member login button on the navigation menu. I wondered if I should be using one in the side bar also to allow them to see if they are logged in and when they can log out. You can see this on the website at http://www.leancertificationonline.com
The client is using a coupon code that I gave them to receive a discount. I do not know if this might be creating any issue as we did have a problem in the past when I was instructed in a post to change the infinity symbol to 999. It worked ok after this change.
June 27, 2012 at 3:09 am #46444adminKeymasterIn that case I think the following is happening.
When a member is making a purchase, he is making the purchase without logging into the site as a member (this is why the plugin couldn’t recognize the user).
Two possible options for you to get around this:
1) Place the membership upgrade payment buttons in a protected page. This will make sure only logged in users can see the button and make the payment (non logged in users won’t be able to make the payment).
2) Go to “eStore settings -> Addon Settings -> eMember specific settings” area and check the following option:
Only Logged In Members Can Checkout
This makes it to where eStore will only let logged in members to checkout on your site.
June 28, 2012 at 1:08 am #46445eldigital2MemberWhat if they are purchasing WPeStore non-digital goods along with a “membership”?
June 28, 2012 at 4:56 am #46446adminKeymasterThat is fine too. as long as there is a value in the “Reference Text” field of the product , it will trigger the membership actions when someone purchase that item.
