I have tried searching posts about multiple customer inputs but they didnt seem to be what I needed.
I have an embroidery business that I am using the WP eStore with. If I am selling a product and they want to add embroidery I need to collect: 1) whether they want name or initials, 2)embroidery style, 3)font choice, 4)thread color, and then the input field would be where they could enter name or initials for that product.
A little background on embroidery, initials are embroidered two ways: 1) all initials in order and same size or 2) the last name initial is in the middle and larger than the other initials. People get confused on how they should enter their initials into the single text field, whether they should enter them in order or with the middle initial being the last name initial. It is confusing just typing this. Even though I try to explain it on my website how they should be entered.
I need to reduce confusion because it can cost me to correct errors. I would like the option where I could have 3 input fields where I can have something like follows:
First name initial: (this could either be a text box or a drop down field with the alphabet)
Middle name initial:
Last name initial:
I can’t do this through the variation fields because I need them to collect other information. This way I can put the initials in the proper order and reduce confusion. If there were unlimited variation fields, I could probably manage that way too.
The other thing is that I need this option for each product so I dont get confused which name/initials goes with which product. I have read someone suggest making a thank you page after paying with paypal where a customer could add additional information but that again could get confusing if more than 1 product is being purchased. Any suggestions would be great appreciated.

You have mentioned that it could be a problem if there are multiple item purchase but what if you have a form similar to the following on the tank you page?
1. Product Name:
First name initial:
Middle name initial:
Last name initial:
2. Product Name:
First name initial:
Middle name initial:
Last name initial:
3. Product Name:
First name initial:
Middle name initial:
Last name initial:
…..
You can probably put in space for 5 products or something similar (this depends on your sale volume). Now your customer can fill in this form and you will easily be able to relate to each product.
December 10, 2012 at 7:03 pm #27860djbizieMemberIs there any possibility to make this dynamic? Or will it be a static thank you page? What happens if the customer wants to buy 8 products? Will there still only be – as in this case three static “product inputs”?
