I have succefully setup eMember and eStore for my site, however the Unique Reference/Subscriber ID is not populated.
Is this important and if so, how can this be fixed?
Jeroen
Hi Jeroen, That field will only be used if you are using subscription/recurring payment for your membership access. If you are selling ONE time membership using a buy now button then that field will be empty. You don’t need to do anything for that.
Hi,
I offer three subscription levels for my site (1-month, 3-month, and 12-month), and process payments through Paypal. I had a subscriber originally purchase a 1-month subscription, but then wanted to upgrade to 12-month (at a reduced cost). I canceled his 1-month subscription through Paypal, and then handled the 12-month subscription outside of Paypal. Because the original Paypal recurring payment was canceled, this subscriber account keeps going to “Inactive” each month when eMember realizes that they Paypal payment isn’t going through. I tried to delete the Unique Reference/Subscriber ID so it was no longer linking to Paypal, but eMember won’t let me delete it. Is there another way to work around this so this subscriber’s account doesn’t keep going to “Inactive”? Thanks for the help!!
If you are handling this user’s account manually then you should do the following:
1) Create a new membership level (with a 12 month duration). If the member is in a 1 month duration level and the linked subscription payment hasn’t come through, then eMember will deactivate the account (thinking the member didn’t pay).
2) Give the same permission to this level (like your other level). So this is essentially a level with same permission as the other but has a different access duration value.
3) Now, edit the member’s profile and set this level to the profile. Set the status to active
4) Also, edit the “subscription starts” date value to today’s date (or the day you setup the subscription payment).
Save and you should be good after that.
Ok, thanks!
