Tagged: after login redirection
For some reason two strange things have started happening with my new eMember installation.
1) When I login to the member’s area, instead of ending up on the dashboard page (the page I selected as the page where members are supposed to land after login) I’m now on the login page. This WAS definitely working before. The URL is still listed in the “Redirect After Login” box for the given membership level (I even added it to the sitewide after login page box).
2) I’ve been doing page specific lockdowns for all my membership pages with a redirect to a page with info about the membership. It’s working like a charm on all the pages except my forum (SimplePress) page. I swear I had it working earlier. Now even when I’m logged out of the admin panel it seems to recognize me – and while it won’t let me view the content the page is still visible and I’m not getting redirected to the page I’m supposed to be sent to.
1) Check eMember settings and make sure you have the “Enable After login Redirection” option enabled. Then make sure you have an after login URL specified in the pages/forms settings menu.
2) Check the “Site Wide Page Protection” settings section and make sure that forum page URL is not excluded from protection.
Thanks very much – amazing how very simple things can throw things off, eh?
In the case of the redirect – as you suspected, it was indeed simply a matter of checking off that box (not sure how the setting got changed, but I’m happy it was that easy anyway).
In the second case I simply forgot to add commas after a couple of the URLs!!
