Hi, I set up a test affliate and then created a banner to test the system and everything worked great for completing a sale. I am set up for a two tier commission, first level is 20%, second level is 5%. I submitted a real order for my product on the test affiliate link and then noticed that the test affliate got credit for two sales instead of one. The affliate got paid for the second tier even though there are no affliates under the test affliate and the sale was made on the affliate’s link. I clicked on “Sales” in the Affiliate Center and it shows the level one and level two commissions.
I am using PHP for my shopping cart. I received two order receipts (same order number) from the PHP autoresponder and the one transaction receipt from the merchant account which confirmed only one sale went through the account. The test affilate only received one autoresponder email from WP Affliate Platform saying they got a commission which is good. The sales volume is double of what it should be and, of course, showing two sales instead of one in the Affiliate Center welcome page.
My website is [www.prosperitywristbands.com]

January 14, 2011 at 4:54 pm #28049pmcclearyMemberThe actual sale amount was $17.95. In the affliate center for the test affiliate, it shows a sales amount of $35.90. The commission amounts are $4.49 and .90 (20% and 5%).
I cannot find anywhere in the affliate center or in the plugin area where “Referrer ID” and “Transaction ID” are located???
In the Sales/Comm area of the plugin, the affiliate id’s for both commissions is pmccleary which is the test affiliate id.
January 15, 2011 at 5:03 am #28050amin007ParticipantThat is a little weird. Can you go to the “Manage Affiliates” menu and edit this “pmccleary” affiliate then look in the “Referrer ID” field and tell me if there is a value there?
Can you please create another test affiliate and do another test transaction to see if the same thing happens again? This will help me establish if there is a problem in the PHP cart plugin’s integration code.
January 15, 2011 at 6:30 am #28051pmcclearyMemberThe Referral ID for test affiliate “pmccleary” is “pmccleary” which is explains why the same test affiliate got credit for both the teir 1 and tier 2 sales.
I created another test affliate on another computer and ran a real sale through and this time it went through as one sale and the affliliate got credit for only the tier one sale as they should. I went into the “Manage Affiliates” area for this new test affiliate and it says the referral id is “pmccleary”. It may because I did log into the affiliate center previously on this computer with the “pmccleary” test id. Would that make “pmccleary” the affiliate?
Thinking back, I did create the “pmccleary” test affiliate one time, deleted it and then created it again before running the first real test. Would it be possible that the cookies were still on the computer from the first time I created it and then stayed there after I deleted it the first time? This might explain why it is the referral id. Not sure if this scenario is feasible but the good thing is that it worked during the second test on a different computer.
I already got my first real affiliate and I checked her affiliate id and it is blank.

So you must have manually assigned that affiliate or when you signed up it had a cookie with that affiliate ID in your browser. Looks like you got it sorted now.
