Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to separate the members are on my site, and I am wondering if I will be able to use a sub domain.
Currently I have one site, with pages where consumers can but individual products (via e-store buttons) and memberships (via e-store and e-member). When people are members I have a set of pages that are protected with e-member, where they can then download the digital products at no charge.
I want to move the members area to a sub domain. I know how to move all the products to the sub domain, but I can’t figure out how to make the membership purchase flow work. I want people to be able to buy a membership on mysite.com, but then have them register and access content on members.mysite.com. So, basically sell access to members.mysite.com from mysite.com
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Matt

I am guessing your landing page is on the main domain (mysite.com). You can use the following technique to facilitate the purchase of membership from the landing page of your main domain (when they click on the Buy Link, it will go to the sub-domain and allow them to continue the purchase process):

On the sub domain I install e-store and e-member and set them up to sell the membership, Product#1. I install the extra short codes plugin, then I can use the text link to sell product#1 from any site – I am using the “buy now”, no cart. So on my main domain I could just have a button image with the href=”text link” and that would in effect take purchasers directly to pay pal, and then pass the sale and them on to the sub domain for registration.
One question, if I want to use the whole site lock down feature, will the purchasers be able to register properly after the paypal transaction, or will the complete site lock down effect that?
