Hi there – this isn’t a problem with your product – just looking for some general advice from people who may have had to tackle this.
I want to create a downloadable info product – 4 files of which are mp3s. The files are large and I cannot upload them into the wp media library (error message telling me they are too large).
I followed advice on wp forum to contact my host and get them to change upload file size – they did – to 8 mb – won’t go any bigger – still not big enough – these are hour long mp3s.
So i’m wondering if there is another way to tackle this. Can I host those files elsewhere (on a site like 4shared.com) and then ref them when I create the product details on eStore?. Does storing them elsewhere give an appropriate url that I can then use in the eStore product set up process?
Any ideas would be most welcomed – I’ve come to a halt which is a shame as my audios are ready to go….
Many thanks, Sue.
I’d recommend you to use Amazon S3 Integration for large downloadable files. Please read the following article on Amazon S3-
For Integration please have a look at the post below:
Thank you – I had already found those but wasn’t sure whether they applied to my situation – could you just confirm whether I understand this properly (i’m not a developer as you may have guessed):
1. I store my audio product files on Amazon S3
2. When I do so, I get some sort of unique url for the file from Amazon
3. That is the url I enter into eStore when I’m setting up the audio product
4. When an order is placed via my website/estore for the product – the product is
downloaded securely from Amazon?
Is this a correct understanding?
Thanks, Sue.
ok – ignore that last one – cleared my head and read it again – got it now – thanks!
