Trouble selling both digital and non-digital products at the same time

Hi,

I want to offer CD and MP3 variations. But I don’t want people purchasing a CD to get sent a URL (even if it’s just a simple text file). This is confusing. Is there any way to make it so the email and thank you page don’t display a URL unless one was provided for that specific variant in the Digital Product Variation box?

Made some changes in the plugin for digital variation. You can now have a mixture of digital and physical options (example, CD and MP3) in the digital variation field. When a user selects the physical option from that variation the plugin won’t show any link for that product.

Thanks! Do I still have to use {product_link_digital_items_only} or can I just use {product_link}? What’s the difference now?

Those email tags haven’t changed. You can use either of them. If you use the digital only one, it won’t even list the product if it doesn’t have a download link.

Awesome. So which URL is sent if a digital variation is purchased: the one in the download URL field or the one in the variation field? Can I leave the download URL field empty?

Yes, it will send the URL that you specify in the variation when a digital variation is purchased. Yes, you can leave the download URL field empty if you like. When a digital variation is chosen the plugin will ignore the value in the normal download URL field.
