timthumb vulnerability?

Hi, I just received this in email from my host and wanted to bring it to your attention in case you may not be aware. I don’t really know what this affects exactly.

“Unfortunately, due to recent wide spread distributed attacks trying use this exploit, we have been forced to preemptively disable these files .
