Hello,
I just got the plugin and am still trying to find my way around. I’ve created two galleries [http://valaimages.com/en/photogallery/?v=945e3d9b3c13] and their thumbnails both appear on the Photo Gallery Page. However, the “Farm animals” gallery link doesn’t work. I thought it just took some time to create (as it did when I created the first gallery) but after giving it more time than I cared to, and tried making the gallery page myself (using same code as in the “Animals” gallery except changing the gallery ID nr.) and when that didn’t work I deleted that page and regenerated the default pages. The last part I actually did twice during this process and now it is the last thing I did.
Thanks in advance!
May 1, 2017 at 1:39 am #75590adminKeymasterWhy does your gallery page URL have something like ?v=6cc98ba2045f appended to it?
Galleries are created almost instantly so you shouldn’t have to wait for it. What happens if you delete that gallery (the one that doesn’t work) then re-create it?
May 1, 2017 at 7:15 pm #75591GroaMemberVery good question, now I see that’s the way with all urls in my website and I can’t say for sure how long that has been – not very long that’s for sure. Will see if I can get that fixed and get back to you. However, the gallery page for the gallery called “Farm animals” has suddenly appeared, but it sure took a while! (hours upon hours that is)

May 2, 2017 at 9:02 pm #75593GroaMemberHello again,
I’m afraid I don’t even know what you mean by “caching related issue”. Can this be caused by WP Photo Seller? I’ve contacted Dreamhost and they think this problem is caused by a plugin.
Please get back to me soon, I was told there’s 30 day money-back guarantee on WP Photo Seller and so far not so good but I would like to try the plugin thoroughly before giving up on it.
And btw, the galleries are still not coming up as they should. I created a new testing gallery but that one has yet to become accessible.
Kind regards,
GrĂ³a
May 3, 2017 at 12:06 am #75594adminKeymasterWhen you create the gallery, it is suppose to show up in the front page immediately. You said that it doesn’t show up for some time which could mean that you are looking at a cached page.
If you are not familiar with what a cached page is then do some reading on it to quickly understand what it is.
Sometimes users install caching plugin to do the caching. Some hosting providers do caching on their end also. So they keep serving cached page (which doesn’t have the new changes) to the visitor.
If you didn’t install any caching plugin yourself then you should ask your hosting provider if they are doing caching on their end.
May 3, 2017 at 6:52 am #75595GroaMemberThank you, I will, but I need to ask again: “Can this be caused by WP Photo Seller? I’ve contacted Dreamhost [my hosting provider] and they think this problem is caused by a plugin.”
This is a new problem on my site and the only change recently was WP Photo Seller.
May 3, 2017 at 7:11 am #75596GroaMemberHello again, now I know what a cached page is and I have no reason to believe that I’m looking at cached page. I don’t use any caching plugin and all changes I’ve made to my website have appeared immediately. However, the problem is that WP Photo Seller is simply not creating a new page for the new gallery (in this case the gallery is called “Testing again”) as it should indeed do, right? The Thumbnail for the gallery does appear on the “Gallery Page” but the thumbnail link leads nowhere.

I will email you to get login details so i can take a closer look at your site.
ps: have you had a chance to find out what is adding the “v=xxxxxxxx” on your site’s URL when a visitor browses your pages?
