Tagged: affiliate plugin, change timezone, time
I am actually just trying the plugin to assure it works well before launching and I noticed that the the DATE AND TIME reflected on the reports is not right. It is showing right now 4/28 3:13 and it is still 4/27.
The time is correct everywhere else in the site.
What could be causing this problem?
Thanks
Update: We have added a new option for this in the plugin. You can go to the advanced settings of the affiliate plugin and enable the following option:
WP Affiliate Plugin Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Use WordPress Timezone
It goes by the GMT time (not your computer’s time). Usually your affiliates will be from around the world so a GMT time is better suited.
Got you! We are local and so far are only on Miami, FL. Anyway to change that?
Add this one line of code in the affiliate plugin (“wp_affiliate_platform1.php” file) and it will change the time:
date_default_timezone_set(‘America/New_York’);
To be honest with you… it doesn’t really matter that much with the timezone when it comes to affiliate sales. You can always add a message on your affiliate signup page that explains to your affiliates that the recorded time maybe a few hours off than their computer time due to the timezone used to record the stats. At the end of the day the affiliates only care about the conversion and their commission
