Im selling subscriptions with wp estore. Im using paypal so the instant you click on the subscribe button it takes you to paypal.
I need to charge tax for the purchases in my state. I have the regional tax rates set up in paypal and activated. The tax is not being charged. I tried activating the wp estore tax rate and I tried it without activating it. I didnt see any option in the admin to make paypal charge tax. I assumed that paypal would charge it automatically but they are not… Any ideas what could be wrong.
PayPal doesn’t support sales tax with subscription/recurring payment. You can price your subscription item price so it has the tax included in it. Then in the product description, you can mention that the price includes tax/vat.
Question Admin, is this still relevant? Does paypal still not support tax on subscriptions?
I haven’t heard any other news about it. If they have changed it then let me know and I will look into it.
Ok, seems that Paypal says yes they do taxes on subscriptions and it seems to work on buttons built in paypal. But not with wp-estore. I can only guess, some field is missing to activate the feature to use tax tables setup in paypal.
