Would it be possible to add custom post types (more control of custom post types with recent wordpress update) to general protection?

Im talking about the categories of custom post types, not just the posts within the custom post type. As far as i can see there is no protection for such custom post type categories.

We don’t want to handle the categories of custom post types in the plugin at the moment. It has some limitations due to how categories of custom post types work.
