Subscription Duration with PayPal recurring billing

Hi Ivy,

I’ve read everything I could looking for an answer to this (and learned about ten things I needed on other issues you guys are amazing) but can’t figure it out.

If my membership levels are going to be subscriptions (two options: monthly recurring and annual recurring) with automatic billing by PayPal I know I put the subscription code in the product section instead of buy now or add to cart but what do I put into the subscription duration for the membership levels?

no expiration

or

one month for the monthly and one year for the yearly

Please use “no expiration” in the membership level as the subscription payments will control the expiry of the account. If the member fails to pay for a recurring payment then PayPal will notify the plugin and his account will automatically get blocked so you don’t have to restrict it in the membership level. let me know if this makes sense.
